Keeping Your Car Clean

I still remember the day that I bought my first car. I thought it was the most perfect vehicle in the world, and I vowed to care for it diligently. Unfortunately, within a few days I had forgotten about my promise, and I started tossing fast food wrappers in the back like everyone else. After awhile I realized that neglecting my car was turning the inside into a garbage pit, and I decided to learn how to take better care of my vehicle. I took a class on auto detailing, and it really helped me to turn things around. I want to teach you what I learned, so you should read this blog.

Clues That Your Transmission Is Starting to Malfunction

Blog

When you have a vehicle, it is very important to make sure that you are well aware of the signs that the transmission is starting to have some trouble. This way, you will hopefully be able to spot the signs that indicate that you need to take your vehicle to a transmission repair shop, such as AAA Commercial Transmission. The sooner you can get the transmission repaired, the less likely it is that you are going to be stranded on the side of the road from a failed transmission.

Shifting Between Gears Is Hard

It is important to make sure that you are paying attention to how smoothly the transmission shifts when you are changing gears. It should be a smooth process, and you shouldn't feel any jerking motions or slack in the changing of the gears. Therefore, should you feel any delays, weird movements, or hesitations when you are switching between the gears, you will want to have your vehicle examined by a transmission repair expert.

Transmission Fluid Is Leaking

Too many people make the mistake of assuming that a small amount of leaking transmission fluid is not something that they have to worry about. The thing is, even the smallest amount of leaking fluid can be a sign of trouble. You cannot know when the leak will become much worse and your transmission may end up completely dry. A dry transmission will lock up, causing you to need to have it replaced with a brand new one.

The Warning Light Has Come On

On your dash, there is a check engine light that will light up when various problems are occurring. Even though it looks like an engine only light, that light can indicate a problem with more than just the engine. Spark plugs, sensors, and transmission parts are some of the additional issues that you can be alerted about. If you notice that this light is coming on, you will want to take your vehicle to a mechanic's shop, where you can get a diagnostic code read from your vehicle. If it shows that there is something wrong with the transmission, you will want to schedule an appointment for immediate repairs.

Never put off repairing your transmission, as the problem will only continue to get a lot worse until it will no longer work. You would then have to tow your vehicle to the transmission repair shop in order to get it repaired or replaced.
