Keeping Your Car Clean

I still remember the day that I bought my first car. I thought it was the most perfect vehicle in the world, and I vowed to care for it diligently. Unfortunately, within a few days I had forgotten about my promise, and I started tossing fast food wrappers in the back like everyone else. After awhile I realized that neglecting my car was turning the inside into a garbage pit, and I decided to learn how to take better care of my vehicle. I took a class on auto detailing, and it really helped me to turn things around. I want to teach you what I learned, so you should read this blog.

3 Important Signs Your Vehicle's Suspension Needs Attention

Blog

Your vehicle's suspension is an important part of the vehicle that you need to know about. The suspension is what allows you to drive smoothly over the road, absorbing all the impact as you drive. That is why it is important to be aware when your suspension is not working as it should be so that you can get it fixed before you start to experience a bumpy ride.

The suspension system is a very complex system. It is made up of so many different parts, all of which may need to be replaced at some point, and all work together to ensure that your vehicle handles as smoothly as possible on the road. Your suspension helps ensure that you enjoy a smooth ride and your vehicle doesn't get damaged by all the bumps in the road.

Dipping Down When Stopping

When you come to a stop, your vehicle should come to a smooth stop. Your vehicle should stay upright as it stops. If the car noise dips down when you hit the brakes, your shocks, one of the many components of your suspension system, are worn out. This can make it difficult to stop effectively in emergency situations. This is a serious issue; you always want to have control over the braking ability of your vehicle.

Pulling to One Side

When you are driving, your vehicle should stay straight. You shouldn't feel like you are fighting to keep your vehicle straight on the road. If that is the case, your tires could be worn out, and the alignment may be off. Or it is possible your steering and suspension (both of which are connected together) could be worn down. This is important to look at, as you need to be able to control your vehicle when you are driving.

Riding Low

Unless you are in a low-rider, you shouldn't be riding low to the ground. If you notice that one side of your car seems to have morphed into a low rider, that is not a good situation. Your car should be balanced evenly on all sides. It should not be lower on one side than another. If your tires are properly inflated, your vehicle should be even. If one side is noticeably lower than another, that generally is an indication that the suspension has failed on that side of the vehicle. You need to get that fixed right away before more components on the other side goes out as well.

If something about how your vehicle rides don't feel right, you are going to want to work with a service center (for instance, an Alfa Romeo service center) to fix it. Your suspension is important to the overall performance of your vehicle.
